An Emerald Land - An Unknown Double -

Successful advertising manager, GRETA CONNER travels to Ireland to fulfill a last wish from her mother. After arriving in Ireland, she is drawn to a colorful village named Angel’s Hollow. When a dark-haired stranger approaches and calls her by another name, Greta is intrigued to discover she’s the image of AEDAN O’RIAIN’s ex-girlfriend. Does she have a close relative unknown to her?
Aedan can’t understand his misfortune. Along with near bankruptcy in his future, his ex is trying to fool him by claiming she’s Greta Conner from the States. Is it some sort of plot to further ruin his reputation? Adding to his angst, his brother, Reece, insists on dating Greta if Aedan will not. All will certainly be lost if Reece falls into her plans.
Angel’s Hollow becomes like home for Greta, and there’s no one her heart loves more than Aedan. But will an unknown twin threaten all she’s longed for?

This novel drew me in with the idea of a doppelganger as Greta who is from America - born and raised in Indiana had traveled over to Cork, Ireland as when she was five years old, and her mother died - the last words she heard was "Go to Cork." Twenty years later, Greta applied for a passport and as she looked at her birth certificate - discovered a different name under her father. She tried to ask her Dad about it, but he seemed to shrug it off. Has her whole life been a lie? Now in Cork, Greta heads to a local bar where she is called a different name Iona. It turns out that she looks just like Aeden O'Rian's ex-girlfriend, so much that when she puts on her Irish accent, she could be her. One thing leads to another and Greta ends up staying at the O'Rian's inn where Aeden has convinced his whole family that Greta is, in fact, Iona playing one of her games on the family. The thing is it is just plain old American Greta. During this book, we read as Greta tries to track down her father but has no luck and also she eventually comes face to face with the "real Iona." I have to admit I was hoping for a bit more of a story with Iona and a reason for their likeness but it was glossed over, and the truth about her father was a bit of a letdown too. Other than that you do get a good Irish romance and I did have a chuckle as Greta's mother's real last words are revealed, and it was not "Go to Cork."

I would definitely recommend this beautifully written love story which takes place in Ireland. I fell in love with the characters and seemed to blend in with the Irish culture and all of the lovely places that Greta visited with her new found friend Aedan. The story comes to life with precise images and the way Greta's life is turned around with the love she feels towards Aedan and his family.
It's definitely 5 stars. What are you waiting for, pick up your copy and spend some quality time in Cork, Ireland.
Sweet. Simple. If that is what you like. I struggled through and the ending was ridiculous. So many gaps you had to go back and re-read and there was nothing you had missed. Did I say the ending was ridiculous? Skip it.
I really wanted to like this one. It was a bit disappointing as the story line is pretty shallow and the characters aren't very developed. Still a fun, quick clean romance. I give it three stars. No sexual content, swearing, or violence. I can recommend for teens and up.
Greta Conner is finally in Ireland, as her mother requested on her deathbed. She loves the country where her father was born, but has plenty of surprises and excitement waiting for her. One of the first ones is Aedan O’Riain. She doesn’t understand why she’s so drawn to him.

Adean O’Riain is sure Greta must be his ex-girlfriend pretending to be an American. Greta looks too much like Iona to be anyone else. What mischief does the pretty redhead have up her sleeve now, and why is his younger brother, Reece, trying to date her? Adean will just have to pretend to woo the woman himself to find out what’s going on.

I enjoyed this book. It’s different enough to hold my interest, and I found the characters well-developed. There was a little head-hopping and about three of four minor mistakes. The mystery was a bit of a let-down when solved, but the rest of the novel certainly made up for it. I thought the ending was nicely done. This is one I wouldn't mind reading again.
A Christian romance. On her death bed a mother gives her 5 year old daughter a message of Go to Cork. Twenty two years later the daughter fulfills her mothers message. The beautiful redhead goes to Ireland to find her biological father and to find her place in the world. She meets a family that is in a bit of financial trouble, their restaurant is not doing well, and she sets out to help them in her mother's memory. She meets a lot of new friends, the love of her life, and her biological father! She even makes friends with Charles Dickens.

It was an interesting story with a bit of surprises. It was a very "clean" story that I think Christian readers will be happy with. I would definitely recommend it to Christian readers. No sex, no dirty words, just an interesting story. It was a fun trip to Ireland.

I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less.
5 out of 5 stars! When Greta was five-years-old her mother tells her to go to Cork and, because her mother was on her deathbed at the time, it has stuck with her ever since. Now, years later, she is finally making that trip to Cork, Ireland with the goal of checking out the location and finding someone to help out to honor of her mother. Her first day there she meets Aedan, a handsome man who helps run his family’s inn and restaurant, who mistakes her for his ex-girlfriend because of how similarly they are in appearance. From then on, Greta and Aedan get close but will their growing relationship be enough to overrule Aedan’s past hurts and help Greta find out where she’s from?

An unexpected Christian romance that keeps you in suspense as to Greta’s heritage, while you fall in love with Aedan and the town of Angel’s Hollow along with her. This novel is very charming! I enjoyed getting to know Greta, Aedan, and Aedan’s family. In addition, watching Aedan overcome his bitterness about his past with his ex and dealing with the conclusion that Greta was different from her was all very sweet. Plus, it helped that Aedan and Greta were great counterparts to one another! I’m happy I could get to know them and read their story!

I recommend this novel to those looking for a charming Christian contemporary romance!
