Up until this point I loved these stories. I bought one right after the other but I think this story made Ethan look stupid, not innocent. Rob was annoying and I don't believe anyone would have put up with him that long. I may have to take a break and I was really loving these books and seeing their relationship grow. I mean how could Ethan bet their relationship knowing how Max had felt earlier in the book. Really?! Very disappointedProduct details

I have read several of Ms Owens' books and generally liked them. She has a skill of somehow including lots of sex yet still moving a plot line forward. It is a flop here. One of the main characters, Ethan, is usually a likable guy in this series. In this installment he is an idiot. The author has him question his own intelligence at one point, but he apparently isn't smart enough to realize just how stupid he and his behaviors are. It is to the point of becoming nearly too irritating to continue reading, despite his ongoing resolutions to do better. He isn't drawn as an antihero, just as dumb.
The discussion of figuring out sexuality and sex roles is also pretty weak.
While I don't recommend this book, I do suggest the author's earlier books in the series or her "Pirate" series.

I love this series..Max and Ethan are just wonderful..never try Dom and Sub book before as it was out of my comfort zone but this series made me appreciate it.looking forward to read Most Wanted.😍
I hate manipulators. So I'm not fond of the guest character. But it does add another problem coming in future. It also shows not only that they are still learning each other, but how far they've come so far.
This is so irresponsible! Max took advantage of Ethan's desire to do anything to please him and went too far. I liked the series but not this book. The paranormal aspect didn't work and the relationship discussion with a past lover was clumsy.
Obsession meets Addiction. Lady Luck, even in the city of sin, is no friend when overconfidence rears its ugly head. The stakes are higher with this client even than the last and Ethan's curiosity almost destroys his happiness with Maximilian Poole by letting his compassionate nature exacerbate the wrong person's ego. I enjoyed reading all the challenges our favorite little hottie from Indiana faces in ever book, and this one really comes close to getting him into trouble he cant get out of. Fortunately, and I say that with a hint of irony, his fidelity to Max saves him from winding up a prisoner to the wrong person. Lady Luck truly does not reward the deluded for long.
