This brought me back to the way New York and alternative comics made me feel back in the 1980's?
I picked up Stryders on a fluke and actually would really recommend it! It has one of those story's that slowly unwraps itself. Letting you figure out whats going on as you find yourself getting deeper into the characters lives and plot. The comic feels influenced by Leiji Matsumoto, Debbie Harry and Movies like Rock & Rule or Don Bluth. It did take me a bit to get use to the pacing of the dialog and some frames have an anime look while others feel more western, but Each panel really fills the environment with little bits of detail that add to the overall mood of the comic's world. The artist has great city shots and solid feel for black and white shading.
I am very happy with this purchase and am looking forward to Mark Goodwell's next book.
